Cedar Walton 1934-2013
This giant of jazz will be remembered for both his incomparable artistry and his great humour.

It's with great sorrow that we note the passing, on August 19, 2013, of the great pianist and composer Cedar Walton. We were lucky enough to have spent some time together recently in France, from July 23-29, with wildly successful concerts in Paris, Foix and Seyne-sur-Mer, with Cedar's beloved trio of David Williams and drummer Willie Jones III. Our condolences to his wife Martha and his four children who survive him. He was 79 years old. Adieu, Lord Walton!

Ray Mantilla                                                                                                                          (Photo by Massimo Manconi)

Lunched is proud to be the North American representative for legendary conga player Ray Mantilla, whose collaborations with Art Blakey, Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach and Charles Mingus would be the envy of any musician, past or present. Mantilla's artistry has enhanced hundreds of recordings, over six decades, in both jazz and latin jazz, and he continues to record and tour internationally. Mr. Mantilla has several groups available for club and festival appearances. Additionally, he approaches workshop and clinic opportunities with younger musicians with great enthusiasm.

Butch Morris
I am absolutely heartbroken at the passing of this genius (and I don't use the term lightly) of music. We had just started to work together last year when he learned he was ill. I was lucky enough to have seen him this fall at his apartment in the East Village. They were beautiful moments I will always treasure. Losing Butch is a terrible tragedy to music in general, way beyond jazz. He was a brilliant, kind, unique, unpretentious and charismatic man, and will be dearly missed.   Jean-Pierre Leduc; posted Jan 31, 2013

Lunched is please to announce it is the exclusive Canadian booking agent for the legendary drummer Ginger Baker, by arrangement with our good friends Ina Dittke & Associates. Mr. Baker is available from July 1st onward; we are off to a great start, already negotiating with several interested parties.      Posted Jan 30, 2013
